karaoke is a welcome and popular source of entertainment. people all over the world are familiar with it. it enjoys popularity in get together (聚會(huì)) and evening gala(聯(lián)歡晚會(huì))。 common folks (平民百姓) can simply sit in the living room and sing songs that best suit their tastes. thus it enriches people＇s lives in a simple but creative way.
being an inepensive and convenient source of entertainment, karaoke is of various functions. firstly, it enlarges our social circle and strengthens our bond (紐帶)。 secondly, karaoke can remove the ban of social walls between people. thirdly, it helps channel enthusiasm (熱愛) into enjoyable and instructive pastimes (消遣)。 the list does not stop here.
however, it can also be a nuisance. for instance, some fans sing loudly late at night, which disturbs others. for another instance, some suffer from a sore throat from ecessive practice. karaoke, in the final analysis, should be for the overall improvement of social civilization. its enduring appeal should lie in the high quality of entertainment, not noise pollution.

整理好心情，我開始想英語(yǔ)老師是個(gè)什么樣的人呢？是戴著眼鏡，板著臉，十分嚴(yán)肅的男老師，還是溫柔漂亮的女老師呢？就在這時(shí)，幾聲清脆的高跟鞋聲打斷了我的遐想。從門外走來(lái)了一位年輕的女老師，她濃黑的眉毛，一雙笑起來(lái)就瞇成一條縫的眼睛，高高的鼻梁，還有一張能說(shuō)會(huì)道的的嘴巴。她走上講臺(tái)，開始自我介紹：“xx班的同學(xué)大家好，我是你們新一任的'英語(yǔ)老師，我姓錢，叫錢金，你們可以叫我錢老師�！甭犕昀蠋煹膯�(wèn)題，我心中不禁產(chǎn)生了一個(gè)問(wèn)題：為什么老師叫錢金呢？反過(guò)來(lái)豈不成了“金錢”，難道老師的父母很愛錢？這時(shí)，錢老師悅耳的聲音又響了起來(lái)：“我可以給五分鐘讓你們問(wèn)各種問(wèn)題�！痹捯魟偮�，我們班的“機(jī)靈鬼”高雨城就舉起了手，說(shuō)了一個(gè)我們大家都想問(wèn)卻又不敢問(wèn)的問(wèn)題：“老師你為什么叫錢金呢？”這一問(wèn)題遭到了全班同學(xué)的哄堂大笑，但這也是我們大家的心聲。原本以為老師會(huì)指責(zé)高雨城，可沒想到錢老師卻幽默地說(shuō)：“嗯，問(wèn)得好，去這個(gè)名是因?yàn)楦改赶Ｍ议L(zhǎng)大后是個(gè)千金小姐，而‘錢金’又與‘千金’諧音，所以才給我取名‘錢金’�！迸�，原來(lái)是這樣，我心中的疑惑解開了，同時(shí)也喜歡上了這位幽默風(fēng)趣的新老師……一堂課就這樣在老師和同學(xué)們的歡聲笑語(yǔ)中結(jié)束了。
錢老師雖然幽默但也不失嚴(yán)厲。有一次，高雨城的英語(yǔ)作業(yè)寫錯(cuò)本子了，錢老師知道后大發(fā)雷霆：“你怎么天天換本子，還把不把老師放在眼里？拿回去重寫，把前面的作業(yè)都補(bǔ)起來(lái)！”在錢老師的嚴(yán)厲訓(xùn)斥下，高雨城低下了頭，乖乖動(dòng)筆寫了起來(lái)。
