  首先是國外的英文簡歷一般都盡量不寫性別、年齡和種族等涉嫌個人隱私的信息,因為從法律傭工角度,這些信息是涉嫌用工歧視的,招聘單位一旦被訴在招聘中涉及性別歧視、年齡歧視或種族歧視等有違法律條款的行為,是要付出巨額賠償?shù),因為外國人認為一個應(yīng)聘人是否符合某個招聘崗位的要求,是取決于應(yīng)聘人的職業(yè)背景和職業(yè)技能水準,而不是上述信息。但是對在國內(nèi)的外企,你還是把上述信息、包括你的戶口所在地,都老老實實地加在英文簡歷上吧。咱們不認為這是歧視。

  本身是主管, 簡歷 少說也看了幾萬封了,發(fā)現(xiàn)有一些通病是很多人會忽略的,而那些招聘網(wǎng)站或者 簡歷 中心也沒有很專業(yè)的教你怎么寫一封好的英文 簡歷 。

  本人比較偏好word版的簡歷,因為目前收到最多的還是模板簡歷,這樣看起來雖然清楚,但是在每天過濾不下100封簡歷的時候,附件中的簡歷還是比較令人期待的。

  當(dāng)然在國內(nèi)中文簡歷比較重要,但是現(xiàn)在的趨勢就是雙語,有時候中文寫的洋洋灑灑,英文確令人哭笑不得。通常 面試 外企,多少都會有老外 面試 ,一份得體的英文簡歷還是很重要的。

  Word的好處是有簡歷模式,而且也有簡歷的范本,適合新鮮人使用。

  不鼓勵用excel和pdf做簡歷。

  英文簡歷用詞

  - 結(jié)了婚是Married, 未婚就是Unmarried? 偶爾看到有人寫上Single會倍感安慰

  - 個性有闖勁,最好還是不要用aggressive,中文感覺還可以但其實英文里這個詞是非常負面的,有暴躁的意思,不是優(yōu)點。用energetic或者spirited比較好

  - 英文和中文一樣,標點符號后要空一格,不要所有句子擠在一起

  - 很多人喜歡在寫職責(zé)范圍的時候?qū)懮螧e responsible for , 文法上來說是不需要的。這些事情是你已經(jīng)做過的,直接說 Responsible for all outgoing couriers 就可以了

  - 英文有很多縮寫,但是在像簡歷這種正式場合還是少用為妙,比如Dont可以換成do not,千萬不要用那些wanna, gonna來代替want to, going to

  用招聘網(wǎng)站的模板可以比較輕松,不過切忌檢查錯別字,因為模板上的是沒有拼寫檢查的

  英文簡歷格式和頁面

  - 寫完后一定要去頁面設(shè)置去除多余的空白頁面,或者是orphan和widow現(xiàn)象,也就是單句的句子在頁面的最上面,最好是合并到前一頁

  - 記得調(diào)整字體和大小,有些人的`簡歷除了不同顏色以外還用不同字體,就像是在不同網(wǎng)站上粘貼過來的,非常不專業(yè)。

  - 簡歷最好不要超過3頁,言語要精簡,最忌諱像論文一樣,但是沒有重點

  - Word本身帶有拼寫檢查,你這里滿頁都是紅線,我這里看到的也都是紅線

  讓你的簡歷有針對性

  在一大堆錯誤百出、英文表達能力低劣或平庸,毫無針對性和創(chuàng)造性的Resume中,你的那份若能讓人眼睛一亮,成功的機會必將大大增加。

  以Balance Sheet為例:

  基本方法選取適當(dāng)?shù)墓ぷ骱,必須看清招聘廣告上所列出的每項要求,再將自己的學(xué)歷、

  能力與興趣逐一與之比較,作一張balance sheet.

  例如,一則關(guān)于marketing management trainee和job requirement是這樣寫的:

  工作經(jīng)驗的陳述

  工作經(jīng)驗是一份resume中令招聘者相當(dāng)感興趣的一項內(nèi)容,善加措詞是必不可忽視的要務(wù)。

  剛畢業(yè),何來工作經(jīng)驗?其實,客下讀書時的兼職、實習(xí)、實踐,以至所曾參加的一些課外活動-協(xié)助助出版學(xué)?、舉辦活動,展覽、宣傳……都可算是工作經(jīng)驗、不過,表達起來要有針對性地展開,列出那些與所找工作有關(guān)連的項目重點介紹,必要時更可使用summary的方式,給招聘者深入的了解。

  用好Job Objective

  一般求者只會在履歷表開端簡單地寫上所應(yīng)征的職位-"Position Applied: Management Trainee"或"I am appling for……"其實,若懂得利用這小小空間寫出自己的事業(yè)目標(job objective),能顯示出你對該工作的熱誠及憧憬,能令招聘者對你加倍留意。

  比如這個不錯的例子job objective To begin as a Marketing Management Trainee, with opportunity to

  advance to executive level and contribute to the development of firm.

  各種格式結(jié)構(gòu)要注意的地方

  頁眉部分

  1)名字,名字有7種寫法:

  例如“李揚”:

  1) Yang LI

  2) YANG LI

  3) Yang Li

  4) Yang Li

  5) Li, Yang

  6) Li Yang

  7) LI Yang

  我們認為這7種都有可接受,比如說第四種-Yang Li ,很方便招聘人員,尤其是人事部經(jīng)理為中國人;但標準的、外資公司流行的簡歷中的名字寫法,則是第二種,YANG LI。

  有人用粵語拼寫自己的姓氏。比如,王寫成Wong,李寫成Lee。這只是香港人的拼法,并不是國際的拼法。

  另外,有一小部分人用外國人的姓,如Mary Smith,這是非常不可取的。因為如果你用外國人的姓,別人會認為你是外國人,或者你父親是外國人,或者你嫁給了外國人。

  雙字名,也有四種寫法,例:

  1)Xiao-feng

  2)Xiao-Feng

  3)Xiaofeng

  4)Xiao Feng

  列出四種來,我們建議用第三種,Xiaofeng,最簡單方便。大家一看就知是名而不是姓,要不然,大家有可能會誤認為你是姓肖的。

  2)地址

  北京以后要寫中國,但不必用PRC等,因為用China簡單清楚。郵編的標準寫法是放在省市名與國名之間,起碼放在China之前,因為是中國境內(nèi)的郵編。

  3)電話

 、袂懊嬉欢拥貐^(qū)號,如(86-10)。因為你是在向外國公司求職,你的簡歷很可能被傳真到倫敦、紐約,大家不知道你的地區(qū)號,也沒有時間去查。另外,國外很流行“user friendly”,即想盡辦法給對方創(chuàng)造便利,尤其是在找工作時,更要加深這一意識。

 、 8個號碼之間加一個“-”,如6505-2266。這樣,認讀撥打起來比較容易,否則,第一次打可能會看錯位。

  Ⅲ 區(qū)號后的括號和號碼間加空格,如 (86-10) 6505-2266。這是英文寫作的規(guī)定格式。

  Ⅳ 寫手機或者向別人通報手機時,也有一定的規(guī)范,要用“4-3-4原則”,如“1380-135-1234”。

 、 傳真號千萬不要留辦公室的,免得辦公室的同事都知道你想跳槽。如果家里有傳真號,最好告訴對方,萬一他找不到你,可以發(fā)幾個字,比較快;將來對方發(fā)聘書或材料時,比較方便。

 、 國外很流行留言電話,有人為找工作,專門去買留言電話。

  教育背景

  1)時間要倒序,最近的學(xué)歷要放在最前面。

  2)學(xué)校名要大寫并加粗,這樣便于招聘者迅速識別你的學(xué)歷。

  3)地名 右對齊,全部大寫并加粗。地名后一定寫中國。例如,?(Haikou)的拼寫與日本北海道(Hokaido)的拼寫很相近。讀簡歷的可能是外國人,不知道的會搞不清楚是哪個國家。

  4)學(xué)歷,可以把學(xué)歷名稱放在最前。

  5)社會工作,擔(dān)任班干部,只寫職務(wù)就可以了;參加過社團協(xié)會,寫明職務(wù)和社團名,如果什么職務(wù)都沒有,寫“member of club(s)”。社團協(xié)會,國外一般都用club。不必寫年月和工作詳情,有些可留待工作經(jīng)歷中寫。

  6)獎學(xué)金,一般用一句話概括。如果有多個,也爭取用一句話概括。

  7)成績,如果不是前五名,建議不寫。因為如果排在五名之外,感覺你不是一個最優(yōu)秀的學(xué)生。一旦寫上,有些人會窮追不舍地發(fā)問,讓你尷尬。

  個人資料

  1)名稱,有四種寫法:Personal, Personal Information, Other Information, Additional Information。

  無論是教育背景、工作經(jīng)歷,還是個人資料,既可以首字母大寫,也可以全部字母大寫,還可以全部字母小寫。

  另外,名稱可以寫在最左側(cè),也可居中。

  2)語言,有幾個層次。“Native speaker of”指母語;從嚴謹?shù)慕嵌戎v,“Fluent in”顯得更流利;“English as working language”顯得不非常流利,但可信度更高; “Some knowledge of” 會一些,沒有把握的千萬別寫。在面試中,語言是最輕松的、最容易被測試的,一旦被考倒,他會認為你在撒謊,甚至認為通篇都有很多撒謊的地方。

  3)電腦,如果幾個軟件,有的熟練,有的熟悉,建議只寫軟件名。完全沒把握的',一點兒不熟悉的,千萬不要寫。不要以為沒有電腦,就不會考你,他也會考你一兩個關(guān)鍵用法。如果真的用的很多,不妨用“Frequent user of”。

  4)資格證書,最需要注意的是,有些人將注冊會計師籠統(tǒng)地翻譯成CPA,但全世界各國都有自己的CPA,有些是互不承認的,所以一定要寫上國別,寫明考取年份。 TOEFL、GRE和GMAT,我們建議都不寫,因為一般外企公司不愿意雇用很快就要出國的人。

  興趣愛好

 、 寫強項。弱的一定不要寫,面試人員說不定對哪個項目感興趣,有時會跟你聊兩句,一旦是你的弱項,很尷尬的,顯出窘態(tài),喪失自信,這對你是很不利的。更重要的是,他會覺得你在撒謊。

 、 要寫也只寫兩到三項。因為極少有人在很多方面都很強。當(dāng)然,確實有的人七八樣都玩得挺好的,但一般人不相信個人的強項有特別多,所以你也沒必要寫那么多,以免給人輕浮的感覺。

 、 不具體的愛好不寫,如sports、music、reading。大家不知道你喜好什么,或者讓大家覺得你根本就沒有真正的愛好,更糟糕的是,人們會認為你的寫作水平很差。

 、 舉幾個用詞。如travel,如果你喜歡旅行,而有些工作需要經(jīng)常出差,那么你寫上travel是非常有利的;有些女性寫上cooking,是很實事求是的,也給人以踏實的感覺,對于象秘書這樣的職位,總是有好處的。

  工作經(jīng)歷

  首先要強調(diào)一下,對于正在工作的人,Experience應(yīng)寫在Education的前面,而對于在校生Education則應(yīng)放在Experience之前。

  1)時間

 、 目前的工作要最先寫, 左側(cè)寫時間,如寫成1998-present。

 、 以前的工作,只寫年份,如1993-1995。這樣的寫法主要適于以下三種情況:

  一是工作時間較早;二是工作時間在兩年以上;三是旨在巧妙地拉長工作時間。

  例如,如果你曾于1997年12月到1998年1月就職于某家公司,雖然只有短短兩個月,

  但寫成1997-1998就顯得工作時間較長,同時也沒撒謊。

 、 以前的工作,加上月份,如May, 1998或May 1998。

  這樣的寫法自然會顯得精確一些,也投合銀行業(yè)雇主的口味。

 、 Summer Intern(夏期工作)的幾種寫法。一是直接寫Summer Intern,不管職務(wù)職稱;

  二是寫成Summer Analyst,這種寫法比較適合大學(xué)本科或研究生期間的暑期工作;

  三是寫Summer Assistant,這種寫法適合多種情況;四是寫Summer Associate,這一寫法專指MBA學(xué)生的暑期工作。而且一般認為Summer Associate的級別會比Summer Analyst要高一些。

  2)公司名

  公司名稱應(yīng)大寫加粗。若全稱太復(fù)雜,可以寫得稍微簡單一些。有些公司的全稱往往不為人知,但縮寫名卻盡人皆知。比如在中國就不是每個人都知道INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINE是什么公司,但IBM的大名卻是家喻戶曉的。所以在中國,我們建議大家寫IBM,因為許多外企人事經(jīng)理都是中國人,這樣寫更順眼也更順口。而在美國,大家還是會寫全稱的。

  3)地名

  地名寫法與Education部分相同,這里就不再贅述。

  4)職務(wù)與部門

  Ⅰ 從公司名稱之后的第二行開始寫,如果想介紹公司情況,則職務(wù)與部門應(yīng)寫在公司簡介之后。

 、 職務(wù)與部門應(yīng)加粗,每個詞的第一個字母要大寫,如Manager, Finance Department。

  5)公司簡介

  Ⅰ 對于新公司、小公司或招聘公司不甚熟悉的某些行業(yè)的公司,為了保險起見都不妨介紹一兩句,甚至對于那些業(yè)內(nèi)知名的企業(yè)往往也不一定名聲在外。求職者一般不會針對每家應(yīng)聘的公司都量身定做一份專門的簡歷(tailor-made resume),目前可能只想在行業(yè)內(nèi)跳一跳,但也不排除將來在別的行業(yè)發(fā)展的可能,所以不妨都略帶提一下公司的簡介。

 、 有些外國人可能對中國的公司不太知道,因此要介紹一下。 千萬不要覺得中國的公司很大,別人就一定知道,一不留神,就成了井底之蛙。例如,中國銀行叫Bank of China (BOC)。

  在海外很多銀行都知道中國銀行,但不少人都誤認為中國銀行就是中國的中央銀行。

  Ⅲ 簡介長度以兩行為宜。只用一行易與別的內(nèi)容相混,而三四行就顯得比較累贅。

  6)工作經(jīng)歷順序

  Ⅰ 倒序,這是非常流行的方式。

 、 技能類別,這主要是為了強調(diào)自己的某種技能,如翻譯、電腦等。此外,對于那些工作經(jīng)歷有時間斷層的人,如下崗、休產(chǎn)假等,不妨也可使用這種方法。

  但要注意,這種寫法只適合技能性比較強的情況,其它可參考前面所提到的只寫年的方法加以彌補。

  如果斷層時間長達兩三年,則一定要解釋清楚,說明確切的原因,實事求是。越誠實越坦蕩,越能給人好印象。

 、 兩者結(jié)合,先按技能類別加以分類,再以倒序的方式一一列出。

  7) 工作內(nèi)容

 、 要用點句(bullet point),避免用大段文字。

  Ⅱ 點句的長度以一行為宜,最多不要超過兩行;句數(shù)以三到五句為佳,最多不超過八句。

 、 點句以動詞開始。目前的工作用一般現(xiàn)在時,以前工作用過去時。 Ⅳ 主要職責(zé)與主要成就,初級工作以及開創(chuàng)性不強的工作把主要職責(zé)放在前面,

  而較高級或開創(chuàng)性較強的工作則應(yīng)把主要成就寫在前面。

 、 工作成就要數(shù)字化,精確化,避免使用many, a lot of, some, several等模糊的詞匯,應(yīng)盡量使用具體的數(shù)字,到底管理了多少人,銷售額是多少等等。 Ⅵ 在同一公司的業(yè)績中,不必拘泥于時間順序,而應(yīng)秉持"重要優(yōu)先"的原則。例如,在成就里可先寫最重要的成就;在職責(zé)里可先寫最高的職位,不要拘泥于倒序或正序的方法。

  關(guān)鍵是要使雇主在短短幾秒鐘之內(nèi)就發(fā)現(xiàn)您的最高賣點。

  Ⅶ 接受培訓(xùn)的內(nèi)容可放在每個公司的后面。我們認為培訓(xùn)是公司內(nèi)部的,與公司業(yè)務(wù)有關(guān),不是Education的一部分。

  8)五個避免

 、 長句:沒有人愿意看太冗長的句子,雇主只是在掃描你的簡歷。

 、 縮寫:因為外行人往往很難看懂,不要先入為主的認為別人能猜到或者能查到你用的縮寫。

 、 "I" (我):因為正規(guī)簡歷多用點句,以動詞開頭,是沒有"我"的。

  當(dāng)然若在公司簡介中一定要用到一兩次,也不是完全不可以。

 、 不利因素:我們講過簡歷的原則是不要撒謊,但不寫不等于騙人。 Ⅴ "Reference available upon request":這個短語的意思是如需證明,可提供見證人。但在現(xiàn)實生活中,招聘人員認為任何人都能隨便抓來一兩個見證人應(yīng)急。

  而且如果你在簡歷中也沒有寫上他們的名字及聯(lián)系方法,這句話則完全是多此一舉了。

  學(xué)生寫簡歷時應(yīng)注意的問題

  之所以要把學(xué)生簡歷單拿出來講一講,是因為學(xué)生的工作經(jīng)驗很少,寫不出東西來,顯得頁面不夠豐滿。要按我們在前面講的格式,也很尷尬。因此我們在這里特別介紹一些彌補的技巧:

  1) 教育背景中寫相關(guān)課程。但千萬不要為了拼湊篇幅,把所有的課程都寫上,這樣不很有效,別人也沒耐心看。

  2) 獎學(xué)金一項一行。許多學(xué)生每年都有獎學(xué)金,這樣一來,也可寫出三四行,甚至更多。

  3) 拉長句子。每個句子都可加入一些詞拉長一些。

  4) 自然地多換行,多寫點句。

  5) 加大字號?蓪10號,小五改成12號,小四。

  6) 社會工作細節(jié)放在工作經(jīng)歷中。這樣會填補工作經(jīng)驗少的缺陷,例如,你在做團支書、學(xué)生會主席等社會工作時組織過什么活動,聯(lián)系過什么事,參與過什么都可以一一羅列。如果只做過一件事,那就應(yīng)該盡量把它掰開了寫,如領(lǐng)導(dǎo)過多少人,完成了什么事,起到了什么作用。這樣一來,起碼就有了三行。

  如果做了更多的事,一件一行就可以了。行文簡潔的原則還是要遵守的。

  7) 暑期工作。作為大學(xué)生,雇主通常并不指望你在暑期工作期間會有什么驚天動地的成就。當(dāng)然如果你有就更好了。不過即使實在沒有,就算是在父母的單位呆過幾天,也不妨寫上。

  這樣也算是接觸過社會,了解了些行業(yè),做過了些工作。但你一定要能說上幾句才寫在簡歷上。

  否則將來面試時,你恐怕會被問得張口結(jié)舌,顯得很尷尬。

  8) 中學(xué)情況。一般都不寫。不過如果你在中學(xué)時得過國際奧林匹克比賽大獎或全國性的大獎,不妨提上一筆。

  需要特別注意的問題

  1)無拼寫錯誤,F(xiàn)在文字處理軟件都有拼寫檢查 (Spelling Check),所以你根本沒有理由拼錯。

  2) 小心相近字。這是拼寫檢查查不出的錯誤,要尤為小心。

  3) 避免明顯的語法錯誤。

  4) 請友人幫忙看一下,這是非常有效的一個方法。一是從拼寫、語法、句式等方面來看,有無錯誤;二是從構(gòu)思的角度上來看,有沒有更合適、更恰當(dāng)?shù)谋磉_。

  5) Objective寫不寫?其實寫和不寫各有利弊。如果寫上,當(dāng)然顯得目標明確,非這個行業(yè)、這個部門不可,但同時也就限制了你在別的行業(yè)求職的可能性。但如果你什么都不寫,雇主參照你的背景和一些測試的結(jié)果也許認為你更適合別的部門,這樣就可能獲得新的機會。

  紙和字體的選擇

  1) 規(guī)格,至少80克,或100克左右。在北京許多打字社、復(fù)印鋪都用60、70克的紙,這類紙往往顯得輕飄飄的,質(zhì)感很差。

  2) 尺寸,A4,即29.7厘米長,21厘米寬。

  3) 字體,建議用Times New Roman。

  4) 字號,一般最好用10號,即小五。不過,在學(xué)生簡歷中也可用12號字,即小四。

  5) 打印一定要用激光打印。
